Maintenance

LinoCat is still on solid ground at Grenada Marine in Grenada. I have used the opportunity to fill the starbord side toilet with white vinegar for a few days. This is cleaning all the "remains" from the hoses. Also the one plastic step into the open part down from the helm station has been removed since it needs to be reinforced. It had a minor crack and before it breaks through i wanted it to be reinforced. The same for the teakgrill that the carpenter has made in Portugal. It is Lanis favorite place to play and it was bending through also.
The saildrive oil will hopefully be changed today and we can get back in water on Friday noon latest.

The plan is then to set sail to Carriacou since this still belongs to Grenada and Walter and Gitti from Bagalut are still there. I have some tools from Ralf which belongs to them and also we have not seen them for a while now. I want to do some snorkeling with them also :-)

Vanora with Peter, Tina and Chico and one guest should also be somewhere in the south and we want to meet them also.

The Mosquitos are a nightmare here. If you are at a waterfront restaurant for either breakfast or dinner and there is now wind, you better put a repellent on! There is "OFF deep woods", which contains 25% DEET while normal brands contain only around 5-10%. This is the most "ugly" stuff but you should consider if you want these chemicals
The alternative is Cintronella and other natural oils which also works OK. You can get it everywhere. If you have forgotten it, ask at the bar or restaurant, they usually will also provide you with a spray.

Another thing we discovered: DIRTY potato chips. Yeah, DIRTY is the brand name. They are thick and crisp and just the ultimate potato chip. They come as close to home made as it can get. You have to try them.

If you want to stay in a hotel while your boat is out at Grenada Marine, you can either go to Belair Plantation resort, run by Susan Fisher, or to a hotel over the mountain top (i have to get the name).
The Belair resort has 2 room Appartments with own kitchen, living room etc. You do not have WiFi in the rooms, only at the restaurant. They have a nice pool, sat TV and a steep price: 175USD per night. Riiiight, a bit expensive but it is only a 10Min walk to Grenada Marine and the food in the restaurant is great.

The hotel over the mount drops you at Grenada Marine and picks you up again. This is great but not as convienient as the short walk :-)
