Preventing the Dinghy from bouncing on the davits

The dinghy is pulled up to the davits and then is only leaning against the davits. This is the factory thinking.

In our case this meant in heavier seas the dinghy was squealing and moving and wiggling and it was just annoying.

So the owner of Sunways showed me his idea of adding another stainless steel tube to prevent the Dinghy from rocking in the davits.

I gave the order to Sopromar in Lago, Portugal and they did a good job.



The dinghy is now pulled in and then secured between the davits and the new stainless steel tubes.
As you can see here the dinghy is now absolutly safe and secure. Also there is no wear on the rubber of the expensive caribe Dinghy :-)

Today the ELIDA V was in the marina. She is 40m long and the mast is 45m high!!! She is built from composite and weighs only 95 tons. With a sail area of more than 800squaremeters she can do 20knots. COOL STUFF The boat is holding groups of young people who believe in Jesus Christ but it does not matter to which church they belong. Typically up to 40 young people are guests and the crew is around 12 to 16 people. The boat is very spartanic inside but built very safe and fast. The big Harken winches are operated by grinders and even the anchor is pulled up with them. This is the meeting room below. It can also be used for company sails. Back in the water again

After all work was done: -cleaning of ship bottom -Antifouling hulls -New paint saildrive -Saildrive oil change -some woodwork on the teak grill -some fibre glass work on a step LinoCat was floating again and we directly sailed to Carriacou into Tyrrel bay. Peter, Tina and Chico with their guest Susanne and Walter and Brigitte were already waiting with dinner! Oliver was also there and we met him the first time. We had good food and even better drinks and it was midnight before it stopped :-) The approach to Tyrrel bay in the dark was a bit challenging but with the strong searchlight of Vanora we could circle around all the unlit boats anchored there. By the way, there is a HUUUGGGEEE internet problem, since a fibreoptic cable is broken. So if there is internet access it is extremly slow and often for a few minutes reachable at all
