Chatham Bay, Union Island

We will be there for a fullmoon party so we do not have any telephone or internet coverage for the next days. Only HF SSB and Iridium.

An evening on the Medianoche

Image
We stayed with Ralf and Inge for the evening and had chicken and salad and potatoes together with Carib beer and red wine. We fished and caught a small Jack and soldier fish. The transfer back to our boat was wet since the wind was around 25 knots but all went well. A bigger catamaran dragged anchor and had to change place 3 times. Our anchor was holding well.

Nothing special today

The wind is around 27knots and so we stay in Clifton. In Bequia there was a Gunboat 60 catamaran next to us and i found the website of this beautiful boat: http://www.charterbrochure.com/gazelle/ NICE!

Lani is at the control of the anchor winch. She can already say anchor and anchor chain and know what it is. Whenever the net on the bow is salty she walks around and then licks her feet. We laugh our butts off how much she likes it and how flexible she is. A good Yoga-girl :-) Two girls on the net. This was taken after sunset with the 14mm lens and the light was just beautiful. The "Royal clipper" arrived in Chatham bay for a few hours. When she left she did it under full sail playing loud music. A very majestic sight. Pelicans drifting around for the midday nap. Walter and Brigitte from Bagalut also chilling during lunch time. Their boat is just faboulous, very light and fast. Some of the beach restaurants at Chatham bay. This is a new one. Karin enjoying the beach BBQ with the relaxed atmosphere. Bagalut, leaving the anchorage under sail. The watercolor was almost surreal and the clouds, the water and the Bagalut and Vanora just was a very nice sight.

Clifton on Union Island

This is our anchorage behind the reef in Clifton on Union island. The color of the water is amazing and we are 20m away from the reef. We dropped the anchor right behind the reef in 5m and have 25m of chain out.

Hello again

This is Saltwhistle Bay, since Saline Bay was to bumpy due to waves. The wind has picked up and is around 25 knots so the sailing not so "easy and relaxed". Saltwhistle Bay was nice and in the morning we had the beach for ourselves. In the background are Heinz and Karin. Lani likes to be digged into the sand. Of course there are also the typical palm trees. Since there were clouds we could bring Lani to beack completly naked. This is a picture of the Barracuda steaks we had in Chatham Bay on the beach. Walter from Bagalut has caught the big one. We are now in Clifton, Union Island to go shopping and to wait for less wind but it is said to pick up even more in the next days and turn northerly. So we have to wait.

LinoCat in Chatham Bay, Union Island

We do not have phone or internet, so this update is done via SSB radio. Here in the bay there is BAGALUT, VANORA, LA MEDIANOCHE and LINOCAT. Yesterday night we had a beach BBQ with the Barracuda that Walter from Bagalut had caught. Everyone was bringing salad or somehing and it was great fun. Snorkeling here is good, there are even some turtles around. Tomorrow we will move to Mayreau, Saltwhistle bay
