This and that

This is directly after the start of the kite. We then tied the kite to the Dinghy and we managed to DUMP THE CAMERA into the water. YEAH. But when we dived for it we saw three stingrays so after all it was not to bad. This is the sign of Doris´ shop where you can get almost everything. And this is the shop itself.

Tobago Cays

Pictures tell more than words. We had 4 Sepia while snorkeling at the reef. And 3 stingrays and a nurse shark. There were turtles around also.

En route to the Tobago Cays

Peter and myself used the ocean kayaks yesterday to go to the beach. Peter was ahead of me and i saw a big wave coming from behind and smashing him ashore. Thank god Chico, the dog was OK and Peter only lost his sunglasses and hat. I thought i could do better until the next wave broke over me and i was immediately under water and turned around like in a washing machine. Of course i also lost my sunglasses :-)Getting back onto the kayaks and out in the sea was an interesting task ! Back on board we had a a beer and chatted the whole afternoon. In the evening we grilled chicken breast on the boat and had a nice salad, roasted bread and self made garlic bread with it. After the dinner we visited the Vanora with Peter and Tina for a sweet Tarte Flambé as a dessert. Norman and Erika from "Norm the storm" were also there and it was close to midnight when we finally went to bed. This morning Mike and myself went ashore to get some stuff from the supermarket. This supermarket is ...

Welcome in 2010!

We stayed out until 2 in the morning but we could hear music from the beach until 10 this morning. The dinner was good, altough a little bit on the expensive side with 100 USD per person. We took a watertaxi and Colin the driver was really on time when picking us up in the morning. Peter from vanora delivered fresh warm Baguette to our boat for breakfast (thanks buddy!) and then we went to the town for some shopping for the Tobago cays. There we will anchor a few days for snorkeling and maybe some scuba dives.

Last day of 2009

Hi there on the last day of the year. We all went by Dinghy to town this morning and bought some food and some stuff for Lani. Then we played around with the kite aerial photogrpahy but the wind was to unsteady and so we did not play around enough for good pictures. Maybe the next try on the Tobago Cays is more efficient. Tonight we will be 12 people going out to "Gingerbread", a local restaurant for dinner and then to "Frangipani" for the party. And we are celebrating new year 5 hours after for example Germany. I checked engine oil today and pumped out some water from the stern shower out of the portside engine room. When checking the tension of the steel cable for the steering i had the feeling it might be to tight and so i will loosen it a bit the next days without giving it to much play (hopefully). Our watermaker produced around 90Liter of water today and the solar panels delivered almost 200Ah. Enough for 2 fridges and the lights and music plus the watermaker....

Bequia Admirality Bay

Image
In the back you can see LinoCat at the anchorage. Here you get everything delivered to your boat. Laundry, ice, gas, diesel, bread and they take the garbage also. Mike and Uli at the beach. The sand is very soft but the small waves create quie big turbulence and it is tricky to land with the Dinghy but there is a Dinghy dock at Jacks bar. A GunBoat catamaran in blue waters next to use. An absolutly beautiful boat.

After a night at Blue Lagoon we cleared in customs (140EC Dollar) at the airport and they also did the immigration procedure. The taxi ride was 30US-Dollar but he waited 45minutes at airport and 20 at the supermarket and it was for both ways. We arrived at 1300 in Admirality bay in Bequia and are next to the La Medianoche. the water is clear and warm, the beach evry near. What else can we ask for? More updates later, now i have to get some lunch :-) We have been swimming and also have been at the beach for a walk. The Vanora also arrived and we will have beef from the BBQ and Naan bread for dinner. There are around 100-200 boats here since this is THE new year party location here....
