On the way to the BVI´s

The anchor was raised from the ground at 03.40 and i was up at 3. Then the usual stuff followed like putting the paddle wheel in to get the speed through the water instrument showing data. The speed over ground is measured by the GPS and called SOG. The difference between SOG and speed is then used by the navigation system to measure the drift due to current and tide. So it is not life critical but nice to have :-)

I had 2 cups of coffee as a first breakfast and 5 minutes after leaving both sails were up. On the radar i saw a another sailship in 1/2 mile distance and right now i could also see it with my eyes. Its lights were hidden under all the lights of Anguilla, the island near by.
So it is always good to check the radar screen at night.

Around 9 the Parasailor was up. LinoCat had not seen this sail since we crossed the atlantic and it was nice to have it back up since the wind came in 120 to 180 degrees from starbord. It could be a little more wind. Right now there are 10 knots and so we are doing between 4.5 and 5 knots. 15-20 knots from behind is LinoCats favorite wind speed, then we could do 7-8 knots.

Anyway, the sun is shining and the waves are nicely coming from behind, maybe a swell of maximim 1 meter. A pleasant ride. Over the Iridium satellite phone i just called the marina and yes they have a space vailable. So after a loooong time we will be back in a marina and Linocat will get a good boat wash.

Yesterday the watermaker did his 500th hour without a problem. I average that means around 13500 liter of fresh water which it has produced already. Nice!
The marina water tank is empty and the watermaker fresh water tank is full. We will also fill the other tank in the Virgin Gorda Yacht harbour and not run the watermaker in the marina since the water is usually to dirty.

I hope to reach the marina around 20:00 at night.

Upate: We reached at 20.30 since we could not take a shortcut and went south of Round Rock and then north again. The entry to the marina at night is tricky since some of the lights are broken and the entry itself is unlit.

We had a good night sleep but now it is RAINING!
