The Gunboat 66 Gazelle leaving Rodney Bay anchorage. What a beautiful boat. After an uneventful week in Rodney bay (besides Bettina birthday and the meatballs :-) ) we headed south to Vieux Fort to pick up Mathias and Ute. It was a rough and unpleasant ride. We had swell from the north in the beginning and later from south and the wind coming from front with up to 31knots. We reached Vieux Fort and met with Ralf from La Medianoche and went to the airport. After Mathias and Ute arrived and Inge left us we decided that Joern, a sailor from Hamburg is taking them to LinoCat since Ralf and myself wanted to clear out of customs and immigration. After around 30 minutes we then took a taxi to the harbor and when we headed in the dark towars our boats we saw a small dinghy rowing through the night. YES, it was Ute and Mathias in Joerns boat plus the guest of Joern and luggage in a small rubber boat. Ralf towed them to LinoCat and we had a drink and went to bed. En route to St Lucia we had the big Rapalla Lure out. It is roughly 20cm long and ment for big fish. In front of St Vincent we had a bite at around 7knots and a lot of line got pulled out. It must have been a Barracuda with around 60-80cm length. Well, we only reeled the head in since a much bigger one has bitten off the rest of our nice Barracuda. DAMNED! EDIT: According to the teeth it was rather a Wahoo head than a Barracuda head :-)

We were to late for Wallilabou and so we directly went for Bequia. LinoCat dropped anchor at 22.45. The trip itself was easy and we met Dreamcatcher again with Jochen and Claudia. We passed each other between St Lucia and St Vincent. It was already 1 hour dark after a beautifoul sunset when we reached Wallilabou. This is one of the spots where they have filmed "Pirates of the Caribbean" with Johnny Depp. Quickly we decided to directly go to Bequia. Weather was a bit rainy today.

Karin and Heinz arrrived and we had dinner at the Charthouse Steakhouse yesterday. This morning we left at 9.30 from Rodney Bay and the plan is to reach Wallilabou. Will post more when wifi access

To the left you see "Barbie", a cute motor yacht which also available for charter. If i am not wrong the price would be around 250.000 USD for a week but hey, you can bring a dozen of friends too! Then i liked the sunset today, it was very clear and the clouds were above the water level, so the sun was really an orange ball sinking into the water around 17.45. Yes, it is getting dark here fairly early. The approach to Blue Lagoon in St Vincent was around 19.30 so it was dark but the moon gave some light. In the bay 3 out of 4 buoys were unlit! So be prepared when sailing in the Caribbean. Also the entrance of the lagoon did not match with the elecronic chart but we all know that this might happen. A good old 12V beam search light helped us to find the entrance which is as shallow as 2m and then we reached deeper water and are now currently docked at the Sunsail dock.
