Budget planning

Hi, it is always a question if it is suitable to talk about money. Anyway, i will do it. When you stop working and not earning any money, you have to ask yourself some questions: -How much will i spent? -What do i have to pay? -What insurances does one need? -How long can this go? -Should i keep any savings or spend it all :-) ? Well to maintain the right to get back in my old insurance i have to pay around 70EUR per month, of course without the ability to claim anything. So you also need an new insurance with worldwide coverage. Unfortunately IF-Insurance in Finland, which we used for my expat assignment is not contracting with individuals. They were really great! So i have to look around and most likely might end up with Panteanius which will cost around 1100 EUR per year and person. The insurance for the boat is around 2000-6000EUR per year depending on where you cruise. My contract will pay me a fixed amount if the boat is destroyed, no matter how old it is. Then you have to think

Additional freezer space Waeco CF-35

Hi, Lagoon is providing a passive icebox under the outside seating area of the Lagoon 380 S2. Our boat has a 12V outlet there which was an option to upgrade to an electrical cooling box. We have decided to go for Waeco compressor fridge since it has won many tests and technical parameters sound good. it can be bought for 546 EUR from : http://www.autoteilemann.de/opencms/opencms/html/de/Products/ZUBEHOeRxVON_A-Zx/KOMFORT/KUeHLBOXEN/165381 It is wise to also get the additional cover since it gives more thermal protection and also additional protection for the box. Old passive icebox. The availabe space. You can also see the black 12V outlet. Under: http://www.waeco.com/tmp/CF-35_60_B_10s_03.pdf you can dowload the multilanguage manual for the CF series compressor boxes. Will let you know how they cope with everyday cruising life soon :-)

A visit to LinoCat

Image
A nice view over the swiss alps when flying from Stuttgart to Portimao. LinoCat is still on the hard in Portimao. The Spectra Watermaker has been installed. It is a Ventura 200, which can produce roughly 30Litre of water per hour while drawing 10A. It is designed for a slightly higher output but only suitable for warm water. The under water through hull fitting was already installed from the factory years ago and so there just had to be an above waterline through hole for the brine discharge water. There a several filters installed from charcoal to a 5 micron and 20 micron filter, a feedpump and the Clarke high pressure pump. All this was fitted under the forward port bunk.
