Le Marin

After a nice evening with Erica and Norman and a good night sleep i cleared in at the french customs. They are the ONLY one which still insist on a german "flag certificate" from time to time. There is an acknowledgment for the international boat license (IBS) but the problem is one sentence on it:" The registration number is only valid for german inland waters". This means the paper itself is valid but only in german inland waters we have to actually USE this number and stick it on the hull. Anyway, they can not do a lot and so they cleared LinoCat in. Welcome to Europe :-) The new Lagoon 620 was here and of course we had to have a look and it is avery nice and impressive boat. The marina was full and so we anchored but we are actually happy about this since we have enough water and electricity and we brought Andi and his family to shore by dinghy. Since today the main season in the caribbean has ended and so let us see how crowdy it will be from now on. Today we w...

Martinique

Hi, Andi, Anja, Nina and Alisa left us this afternoon to fly back to Europe. Before we left Rodney Bay we met with Liz and John from Jalan Jalan to say goodbye. They will now head south and we will sail north. Their blog is: http://www.jalan-jalan.org.uk/ Today it was again raining heavily and then wind was turning against us in the last part of the crossing. After they have left to the airport we went by dinghy to the Leaderprice supermarket and suddenly we stumbled across Norman and Erica from "Norm the storm" and so we decided to meet up tonight.

Vanora feeling

Image
Since a few days the weather is REALLY BAD! It is cloudy and raining a lot. So insstead of the normal beach BBQ Romeo had grilled the lobsters and delivered them to the Vanora. So we had again Vanora feeling with the hospitality of Peter, Tina and Chico. Simon and Sarah were also on the Vanora and so we had a wonderful evening. Since the Vanora will stay south and we will head north it was also a sad evening since we said good bye. Only for now, not forever! The weather was according to our mood. We cleared out in Canouan and then directly headed to Rodney bay. So at midnight tonight we dropped the anchor. It was a wet ride and the wind angle was around 30-40 degrees.

Beaches

Today was "beach day". We visited the island Mopion which is only around 50m in diameter and 65cm high. Only a wooden umbrella is there and it is often pictured for caribbean postcards. Lani loved the beach and so did all the others.

Some Impressions from PSV

Image
From Clifton we were motoring against the wind to Petit St Vincent (PSV) where we anchored over white sand. The snorkeling on the outer reef was great. Andi dropped us with the dinghy and the current brought us back to LinoCat. There was also some work to do and so the Spectra watermaker became two new filters, a 5micron and 20micron filter element. After sooooo much work it was time for a swim again. Chris and Lani also enjoyed the 28 Celcius war water. It looked like a bath tub and it felt like one too! Lani was licking all the saltwater from the swimring and even put her face into the water. Looks a little bit like paradise....

Happy Easter from the Caribbean

Image
As you can see Paul the easter bunny has visited LinoCat even in the caribbean. Easter eggs, sand dollars, shells and other valuable stuff was decorating our table. We have been in Petit St Vincent for Easter and we will post more pictures later.
